Body Fat Testing

Body fat percentage is measured using skinfold calipers and/or an electronic body composition monitor.  Please wear loose fitted clothing, as we will need to access the thigh and abdominal areas (chest for men).  Weight will be taken on a digital scale.  Tests will be conducted in the privacy of our Fitness Coordinator’s office.  Appointments can be scheduled at Member Services.  This service is for Y members only. 

PERSONAL TRAINING

Looking for greater results or need additional motivation?  A certified YMCA Personal Trainer can coach you to new levels of fitness.  Your trainer will evaluate your health history and lifestyle to design a
program that will specifically meet
your needs and help you achieve your goals.

2-Person Group sessions are 60 minutes.  Save a few dollars and share your experience with a friend.

Blood Pressure Screenings

High blood pressure typically develops over many years, and it affects nearly everyone eventually.  Fortunately, high blood pressure can be easily detected.  Have your blood pressure checked by a Novant Wellness Nurse & Health Coach each month.  Check with Member Services for schedules.

The Body Project

This is an intense fitness program offered throughout the year.  Train like an athlete with these conditioning drills.  High intensity, total body workout for those looking to take their workouts to a new level.  This class is not for the faint of heart.

Cost:  
  Y Members - $30 each session
  Potential Members - $45 each session

Sessions:
  March - 10:00 a.m.
  May - 6:30 p.m.
  September - 10:00 a.m.
  November - 10:00 a.m.
Sessions are 4 weeks each and meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays
*The first class of each session will meet in the lobby.

FITNESS CENTER POLICY FOR YOUTH

Youth 10 and under are not permitted in the Fitness Center.  Ages 11-13 are permitted with a parent/guardian after they complete an orientation (parent/guardian must attend orientation also).  Teens 14-15 can workout on their own after their orientation.
